Since several other post never found their way to being published in the last few months, I thought I would share a few prayers that I read tonight.
God help us to live slowly;
To move simply:
To look softly:
To allow emptiness:
To let the heart create for us.
Amen
In order to be truthful
We must do more than speak the truth.
We must also hear the truth.
We must also receive the truth.
We must also act upon truth.
We must also seach for truth.
The difficult truth.
Within us and around us. We must devote ourselves to truth.
Otherwise we are dishonest
And our lives are mistaken.
God grant us the strength and the courage
To be truthful.
Amen

Beautiful post. My struggle is "to act upon truth", as you are doing right now. It is much easier to say "that's his life, his problem, his choice" and not get involved. It's a whole 'nother dimension of love to step in the fire and reach out to the one you love. I'm proud of you and inspired by you.
ditto to what sara said. these are beautiful prayers. being a non-confrontationalist since birth, I can attest that it does get easier with age - maybe you don't care what people think so much, or you realize how important it is to say what needs to be said. I don't know, I just know that OCCASIONALLY I'm able to do it now. I pray that everything went well last night. You were in my heart and prayers all weekend.
Isn't it grand that we are in such a small church and yet I have no idea what this is all about?
